To the few hardy souls who seriously visit Fiordland wilderness, NZWT is keen to provide a forum for sharing information about moose; collectively all our efforts will result in a better understanding of them in Fiordland. Please contact the Manager.

• Evidence of moose, especially browsing evidence, differs conspicuously from red deer sign to a good observer. Further searching near these areas may yield snagged hair or fresh droppings capable of successful DNA profiling. Package and label the sample carefully, keeping any hair dry and send to the Manager who will arrange analysis, and you will be advised of results.
  

• Perhaps you know someone who has had a first-hand contact with moose in earlier days. If they are willing to share their story New Zealand's wildlife history will be the richer for it.
